In celebration of Minus the Bear’s 10-year anniversary, the Seattle-based quintet is hitting the road for a special tour this fall. They’ll hit Boston for a show at Royale on Sunday, October 16. Tickets for the show will go on sale Friday at noon through Ticketmaster for $25. The Velvet Teen will open the show.

To commemorate a decade of music the band will be integrating a performance of their 2002 debut album, Highly Refined Pirates, in its entirety into their full sets. The band will release vinyl copy of the album, as well as their first EP This Is What I Know About Being Gigantic, in October. Since their formation in 2001, Minus the Bear have released several EPs and four albums, the latest being 2010’s Omni.

“It is often said that ‘time flies when having fun’ so it should come as no surprise that MTB is passing our official decade mark this fall!,” the stated in a message to fans on the website. “Thanks to our incredible fans, we’ve been able to turn a humble project into a full fledged band and we are looking forward to hitting the road yet again. It’s going to be a blast to dust off some vintage tunes (including Highly Refined Pirates in its entirety and choice cuts from This Is What I Know About Being Gigantic) as well as some new songs for this upcoming extravaganza. Whether you are an old or new fan we trust this won’t be a show to miss.”
