The Mighty Mighty Bosstones have announced the dates for their 13th annual Hometown Throwdown. This year’s series of shows will take place at Boston’s House of Blues from Sunday, December 26 through Tuesday, December 28. Tickets for each of the shows go on sale Saturday at noon through Live Nation for $25 and $35.

“This year’s shows promise to our biggest and best yet with plenty of surprises in store,” the band declared in an announcement on their official website.

The Mighty Mighty Bosstones released their first studio album in seven years, Pin Points and Gin Joints, last December. The album is their first proper studio effort since 2002’s A Jackknife To A Swan.

Since forming in 1983, the Boston-bred ska veterans have released seven full-length albums, three EPs and a live album while touring continuously before their announcement of a hiatus in December 2003. They reunited in the fall of 2007, and performed together for the first time in four years at the Middle East as part of the band’s tenth Hometown Throwdown. To coincide with their reunion, the Bosstones released Medium Rare, a compilation comprised mostly of b-sides along with three new songs.
