Michael Franti & Spearhead ready for New England

Michael Franti & Spearhead will hit New England this November for three shows as part of a tour in support of the their forthcoming album, The Sound of Sunshine.

Kicking off the string of New England dates is a two-night stand at the Calvin Theater in Northampton on Monday and Tuesday, November 1 and 2. Tickets are now on sale through nbotickets.com for $32.50 each, or $55 for a 2-night pass. From there, the band will make their way to Rhoed Island for a show at Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel in Providence on Friday, November 5. Tickets are on sale through etix.com for $25 and $35. The final New England date falls on Sunday, November 7 at the Capital Center for the Arts in Concord, New Hampshire. All tickets are $35 through the venue’s box office.

Frontman Michael Franti expressed his excitement about the tour, stating in a press release, “I’m so excited to be hitting the road again this Fall and sharing our new music live with our fans. To play music that makes people feel energized and passionate about life in these stressful times, is a privilege that I’m grateful to have. We’ve been doing a lot of acoustic street performances these days outside the venues we’ve been playing in and I look forward to seeing longtime fans again and meeting new ones in every city we play in.”

Michael Franti and Spearhead has achieved unprecedented mainstream success since last year with their breakout single “Say Hey (I Love You)” peaking at #18 on the Billboard Hot 100, the band’s first Hot 100 chart entry.The Sound of Sunshine will hit stores on September 21.
