MGMT have revealed plans for a fall tour in support of their brand new self-titled album. After wrapping up a tour of Europe, the New York-based indie rockers led by Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser will return stateside for a show at Boston’s Orpheum Theatre on Thursday, December 5. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $25 to $45, will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster. Kuroma will also perform.

MGMT, the band’s third studio effort and follow-up to 2010’s Congratulations, was released earlier this month. It was a recorded at Tarbox Road Studios, a cabin in upstate New York, with longtime collaborator Dave Fridmann (The Flaming Lips, Tame Impala). The collection of ten songs includes nine brand new songs and a cover of “Introspection” by 1960’s psych band Faine Jade. MGMT includes singles “Your Life Is A Lie” and “Cool Song No. 2” (video is streaming below).

“I think this is the most comfortable we’ve ever been – it seemed very uninhibited and the whole recording process had a nice flow to it,” said Goldwasser in a recent interview with Digital Spy. VanWyngarden added, “It’s not the ultimate sound that defines our band but we’re getting as close as we’ve come to something that combines all our different styles since college.”
