Canadian indie rockers Metric will soon embark on a world tour in support of their latest release, Synthetica. The tour will hit Boston’s Orpheum Theatre on Thursday, September 20. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $28.50 to $33.50, are currently on sale through Ticketmaster. Every ticket purchased will include a digital copy of Synthetica along with five bonus tracks.

Synthetica, Metric’s fifth studio effort and follow-up to 2009’s Fantasies, debuted at #12 on the Billboard 200 after its release last month. It features a special guest Lou Reed on “The Wanderlust”. The video for lead single “Youth Without Youth” is streaming below.

Guitarist and album producer, Jimmy Shaw described the new album as “the culmination of everything we’ve done” in a press release. He added, “We’ve always had a sound in our heads that we hoped to realize. We finally heard it coming back out of the speakers this time.”

In a letter to fans earlier this tear, frontwoman Emily Haines said, “Fantasies was all about pushing ourselves out into the world, going to unknown places and shaking off everything familiar. Synthetica is about staying home and wanting to crawl out of your skin from the lack of external stimulation. Synthetica is about forcing yourself to confront what you see in the mirror when you finally stand still long enough to catch a reflection. Synthetica is about being able to identify the original in a long line of reproductions. It’s about what is real vs what is artificial.”
