Metallica bassist to appear at film premiere in Boston

Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo will appear in Boston tonight for the premiere of the band’s new 3D film, “Through the Never”. Fans can meet him at the film’s midnight showing at the AMC Boston Commons 19 theater.

Through the Never music-driven 3D movie directed by Nimrod Antal and co-written by Antal with Metallica’s James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Trujillo. It features footage from the band’s performances in Edmonton and Vancouver last summer. The band used 24 cameras simultaneously to capture the career spanning sets on a stage specifically designed for the film.

The music is accompanied by a fictional narrative about a young roadie portrayed by Dane DeHaan (A Place Beyond the Pines, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 & 3), who is sent on an urgent mission during the the band’s concert. While on this mission, he unexpectedly has his life turned completely upside down.

Through the Never will first be released to IMAX theatres before expanding to all theaters on October 4.

Earlier this week, Metallica released a two-disc soundtrack comprised of the songs featured in Through the Never.
