Meghan Trainor announces first headlining tour

Riding the wave of success behind her smash hit “All About That Bass”, rising pop star Meghan Trainor has announced plans to embark on her first headlining tour next year. As part of the 2-month trek, the Massachusetts native will deliver a homecoming performance at Boston’s Paradise Rock Club on Tuesday, March 17. Tickets for the St. Patrick’s Day show will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster for $20.

“All About That Bass” has spent eight consecutive weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart, the six-time platinum hit also topped the charts in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, Canada, Germany, Austria, Denmark and Mexico. The song is included on her recently released EP Title, which serves as a preview for her forthcoming full-length release of the same name. Trainor’s major-label debut is scheduled to hit stores on January 13. Her second single “Lips Are Movin” is streaming below.

When she was still in high school, Trainor landed a deal with a Nashville music publishing company and started writing songs for a range of artists including Rascal Faltts and Hunter Hayes. The multi-instrumentalist also released three albums on her own by the age of 17.

On Wednesday, Trainor will perform “All About That Bass” with Miranda Lambert at the Country Music Association awards in Nashville. ABC will air the event live, beginning at 8 p.m.

Trainor will also perform at the upcoming Kiss 108 Jingle Ball concert at the TD Garden on Sunday, December 14.
