Megadeth maps Countdown To Extinction tour
Megadeth will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their best-selling album, Countdown To Extinction, with a special tour this fall. Performing the album in its entirety, the veteran metal favorites will kick the tour off in Rhode Island with a performance at Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel in Providence on Friday, November 9. Tickets for the show, which will also feature openers Kyng, are now on sale through eTix for $39.50 and $44.
Following the show in Rhode Island, Megadeth will hit Massachusetts for a show at The Palladium in Worcester on Sunday, November 11. Tickets for the show are now on sale through Tickets.com for $37.50. The tour will also stop at the Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford, Connecticut on Tuesday, November 13.
Countdown to Extinction, Megadeth’s fifth studio album, was released in July of 1992. The album produced singles “Symphony of Destruction”, “Sweating Bullets”, “Skin O’ My Teeth” and “Foreclosure of a Dream”. The band will release an a new 20th anniversary edition of Countdown to Extinction on November 6. It will be released both digitally and as a 2-CD lift-top box set, which pairs the remastered original album with a never before released a 1992 concert, recorded live at San Francisco’s Cow Palace. The set also includes a booklet with a new liner notes essay by music journalist Kory Grow, a 24″ x 36″ poster and four collectible postcards.
Megadeth’s most recent offering of all new material came last year with Thirteen.
