Pop prodigy Greyson Chance will be in Boston today for a free performance and autograph signing with fans at the Hard Rock Cafe. The event will take place at 7 p.m.

Chance released his debut album Hold On ‘Til the Night on August 2. Powered by the success of hit single “Unfriend You,” it debuted at #2 on the iTunes Pop Chart. The majority of Hold On ‘Til The Night was written by Chance. The album was recorded in Los Angeles and produced by The Matrix (Christina Aguilera, Avril Lavigne) and Billy Steinberg (Katherine McPhee, Miranda Cosgrove).

Also tonight, Chance will appear on the season premier of Fox TV’s Raising Hope. On the show, Chance will play will play the role of a younger version of the character Jimmy, who was a piano prodigy before a freak accident caused him to lose his abilities. In April 2010, the sixth-grader posted a clip on YouTube of himself performing Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” at a choir event in his hometown of Edmond, Oklahoma. It went on to become YouTube’s #3 most popular video of 2010 as the young singer became a phenomenon among social media sites. After appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, DeGeneres announced that she had signed the youngster to her newly formed label, eleveneleven.
