Matt Nathanson will return home to Massachusetts for a pair of shows this summer as part of a nationwide tour with fellow pop-rocker Gavin DeGraw. Joined by special guest Andrew McMahon, the two will perform in Boston at the Blue Hills Bank Pavilion on Saturday, August 23. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $29.50 to $49.50, will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster.

Nathanson, a native of Lexington and now based in San Francisco, continues to tour in support of 2013’s Last of the Great Pretenders. The album, his eighth studio effort and follow-up to 2011’s Modern Love, features singles “Mission Bells and “Kinks Shirt”.

DeGraw is on the road to promote his new album, Make a Move. The album, his fifth studio effort and follow-up to 2011’s Sweeter, debuted at #10 on the Billboard after its release in October. DeGraw worked with several producers, including busbee, Martin Johnson, Ryan Tedder, Butch Walker, Benny Blanco and Kevin Rudolf, on the album. Lead single “Best I Ever Had” was co-written and produced by Johnson, a Massachusetts native and frontman for pop-rockers Boys Like Girls.

Along with the show in Boston, Nathanson and DeGraw will perform a more intimate show at the Cape Cod Melody Tent in Hyannis on Sunday, August 24. Tickets for the show will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through eTix for $55 and $75.

The tour will also make stops in Connecticut (at the Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford on August 16) and New Hampshire (at the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom on August 17).

McMahon, of Something Corporate and Jack’s Mannequin fame, is reportedly working on a full-length studio album with hopes of a release later this year. Last April, he released a 4-track digital EP entitled The Pop Underground.
