With upcoming tour dates scheduled in Israel, Mexico and throughout South America, Matisyahu has revealed plans to close out 2013 in the United States with his seventh annual “Festival of Lights” tour. The eight-city tour celebrating Hannukah will stop in New England for two shows, including one night at Boston’s House of Blues on Saturday, December 7. Tickets for the show, which will also feature opener Kosha Dillz, are now on sale through Live Nation for $28.5 and $39.50.

Matisyahu is touring while at work on his sixth full-length studio album, expected by summer 2014. Of the record, produced by Stu Brooks and Joel Hamilton and featuring Brooklyn group Dub Trio, Matisyahu noted in a press release, “This record is a document of my spiritual, artistic and personal evolution. It takes the religious ideas I have studied and connects them to my heart. It is my most intimate work to date and I believe it will resonate strongly in the hearts of those who listen.”

The forthcoming album follows Matisyahu’s latest release, 2012’s Spark Seeker. The reggae singer’s fourth studio effort and follow-up to 2009’s Light debuted at #19 on the Billboard 200. Recorded in Los Angeles and Tel Aviv with producer Kool Kojak, it features singles “Sunshine” and “Live Like A Warrior” (streaming below). Spark Seeker also marked Matisyahu’s first album since he relocated from Crown Heights in Brooklyn to Los Angeles with his family in 2011, a year which also saw the singer shave his noteworthy beard.┬áIn January, Matisyahu released Spark Seeker: Acoustic Sessions, a six-song EP that features acoustic versions of songs from Spark Seeker.

Prior to the show in Boston, Matisyahu will bring the “Festival of Lights” tour to Rhode Island. He’ll perform at Lupo’s Heartbeark Hotel on Tuesday, December 3. Tickets for the show are now on sale through eTix for $28.
