Mates of State plan tour in support of new album
Mates of State, the husband-and-wife team of Jason Hammel and Kori Gardner, have revealed plans for a fall tour in support of their forthcoming album Mountaintops. The Connecticut-based duo will play Boston’s Royale on Monday, September 26. Tickets for the show are now on sale through Ticketmaster for $27. Suckers and Yawn will provide support.
Mountaintops will be released on September 13 through Barsuk Records. It is the band’s full-length follow up to 2008′s critically acclaimed Re-Arrange Us. The self-produced album was written and recorded over the last year and a half in six different studios with multiple different engineers.
Earlier this week, Mates of State premiered a remix of “Sway” by the The Diamond Rings, one of the Mountaintops’ eleven tracks.
In 2010, Mates of State released Crushes (The Covers Mixtape), a series of remixed covers of bands including Fleetwood Mac, Belle & Sebastian and Death Cab For Cutie.
