Matchbox Twenty have revealed plans to return to the road in 2013 for a tour in support of their new album, North. The band will hit the pavement at the end of January and make their way to Connecticut for a show at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville on Friday, March 8. Tickets for the show will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster for $49.50.

North, Matchbox Twenty’s fourth studio album, debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 after its release in September. It marks the band’s first album of all new material since 2002’s More Than You Think You Are, although they did record six new songs for their 2007 compilation album Exile on Mainstream. North features singles “She’s So Mean” and “Overjoyed”. The video for the latter is streaming below.

Matchbox Twenty, comprised of Rob Thomas (lead vocals, guitar), Paul Doucette (drums), Kyle Cook (lead guitar) and Brian Yale (bass), lived together last summer in a house in Nashville where they collaborated on the new material. They then joined forces with Grammy Award-winning producer Matt Serletic at his Emblem Studios in Calabasas, California.

Prior to the show in Connecticut, Matchbox Twenty will perform in Maine at the Augusta Civic Center on March 1.
