Martina McBride has revealed plans for a summer tour that will swing Massachusetts in August. The country star will play the Cape Cod Melody Tent in Hyannis on Friday, August 5 and the South Shore Music Circus in Cohasset on Sunday, August 7. Tickets for both shows will go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. though Ticketmaster for $73.25 and $91.25. Rising country star Blain Larsen will open both shows.

McBride, who recently signed with Big Machine Label Group’s Republic Nashville imprint, is in the studio currently completing her forthcoming album with co-producer Byron Gallimore (Faith Hill, Tim McGraw). The first single, “Teenage Daughters” (co-written by McBride and The Warren Brothers), just hit radio and the full album will be released later this fall.

“I finally made the time to write more and it’s made this album so much more personal,” explained McBride in a press release. “I won’t sing a song unless I can tell the story or relate to the lyric and I don’t believe you have to write the lyric to relate to it. But this album shows so many sides of my personality and the fact that I wrote most of it will make it interesting and fun for my fans.”

McBride, who’s last studio release was 2009’s Shine, is a four-time CMA Female Vocalist of the Year, three-time ACM Female Vocalist of the Year. The Grammy Award winner has 24 Top 10 singles including six that hit #1.

A second show at the Music Circus is listed on McBride’s website for Saturday, March 6 but has not yet been listed on the venue’s website.

In related news, McBride will perform as part of the “Girls’ Night Out: Superstar Women of Country” special that will on April 22 on CBS. The show will be a special tribute concert featuring an all-star lineup of performers paying respect to today’s top female country music artists, all of whom will be honored with unique accolades from the Academy for special achievements in their careers.
