Maroon 5 will join forces with Kelly Clarkson for the “Honda Civic” tour this summer. The pair of pop-rock favorites will make their way to Massachusetts for a night at the Comcast Center in Mansfield on Friday, August 9. Tickets for the concert, which range in price from $29.50 to $99.50, will go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation. Opening the show will be Rozzi Crane.

After a successful winter outing, the summer trek will continue Maroon 5’s support of 2012’s Overexposed. The band’s fourth studio effort and follow-up to 2010’s Hands All Over, has produced hit singles “Payphone” (featuring Wiz Khalifa), “One More Night” and “Daylight”. Earlier this year, the band teamed up with the Playing For Change music project series which brings together musicians from around the world. The video for their collaborative effort of “Daylight” is streaming below.

Despite releasing Overexposed just last year, Maroon 5 is already hard at work on their next album.

“The stuff we’re working on now, it definitely has gone maybe a little darker in its sound, maybe back a little bit more to what we kind of did on Songs About Jane,” explained guitarist James Valentine in a recent interview with the Associated Press. “But at this point we do have all kinds of different songs and it is early.”

Clarkson is also working on a new album, though no release date has been set for sixth studio release. Her last studio album was 2011’s Stronger, which featured hit singles “Mr. Know It All” and “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)”. Last year, she released Greatest Hits: Chapter One. The compilation album comprised hits from her first five studio albums, as well as three brand new tracks: “Catch My Breath”, “Don’t Rush” (featuring Vince Gill) and “People Like Us”.

The Honda Civic tour, now in its 12th year, will continue its tradition of presenting a customized vehicle of the headlining bands. Maroon 5’s vehicle will be autographed by each of the band members and put on display at every tour stop.

Along with the show in Massachusetts, Maroon 5 and Kelly Clarkson will also perform at the Comcast Theatre in Hartford, Connecticut on Saturday, August 31. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $25.50 to $99.50, will go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation.
