Marina and the Diamonds has revealed plans to return to the United States for a headlining tour this winter in support of her new album, Electra Heart. The Welsh rocker will bring “The Lonely Hearts Club” tour to Boston for a night at the House of Blues on Saturday, December 8. Tickets for the show, which will also feature openers Icona Pop, are available through Live Nation for $22.50.

Electra Heart, Marina and the Diamonds’ sophomore album and follow-up to 2010’s The Family Jewels, was released in April. Marina worked with several record producers on the album, including new collaborators such as Dr. Luke and Liam Howe, as well as former collaborators Greg Kurstin and Rick Nowels. It features singles “Primadonna”, “Power & Control” and “How to Be a Heartbreaker”.

“I wanted to challenge myself, I have consciously done everything I set out not to, originally” said Marina of the new album in a press release. “Sing about Love. Work in the world of American Pop. Co-write. It was a really enjoyable period in my life. The music has energy and aggression and my vocals are much more controlled and detached… It’s lyrically quite bitter, but comically so. I love black humour”.
