Perennial summertime favorites Lynyrd Skynyrd will return to the road again this summer. This year, the southern rock icons will team up with Poison’s Bret Michaels and .38 Special for the “God & Guns” tour. They’ll make their way to Massachusetts for a show at the Comcast Center in Mansfield on Thursday, July 1. Tickets, which range in price from $25 to $59.50, go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation. Fans can also purchase a special 6-pack tickets for $99 total.

“The band and I have been friends with Bret for years and are looking forward to finally getting to tour with him,” explained Skynyrd’s Johnny Van Zandt in a press release. “It’s going to be a kick-ass show complete with new music plus all the fan favorites.”

“There is no doubt that Lynyrd Skynyrd is one of my all time favorite rock and roll bands,” added Michaels. “I have been friends with them a long time, so I am honored that Skynyrd has asked me to join them on their tour this summer. I will have a chance to play all the Poison greatest hits, plus all the new solo hits…[the tour] will be a summer concert celebration of awesome music, amazing fans and most important a kick ass night of rock and roll.  To sum it up Lynyrd Skynyrd / Bret Michaels is a nothing but a good time summer party that will rock your world.”

Skynyrd is touring in support of their new album God & Guns. Released last fall, Gods & Guns is their twelfth studio album and first since 2003’s Vicious Cycle. It debuted at #18 on the Billboard 200, making it the band’s highest chart position since 1977’s Street Survivors.

Michaels is gearing up for the release of next solo album, Custom Built. No release date has been set but the album’s lead single “Nothing to Lose”, which features guest vocals from Miley Cyrus, is now available and streaming on his website. Michaels is also currently starring on NBC’s The Celebrity Apprentice.

.38 Special’s last studio offering was 2004’s Drivetrain.
