Lupe Fiasco will hit Massachusetts this fall for a show in Lowell just days before his highly anticipated new album. The rapper will play Lowell’s Tsongas Center on Saturday, September 22. Tickets for the show, which will also feature opener Theophilus London, are now on sale through the venue’s box office and website for $37. UMass Lowell students can purchase discounted tickets in advance for $27.

Fiasco is gearing up for the release of his forthcoming album, Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album, Pt. 1. The Chicago bred rapper’s fourth studio effort is scheduled to hit stores on September 25 and follows 2011’s Lasers. A second installment of Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album will be released in early 2013.

Singles “Around My Way (Freedom Ain’t Free)” and “Bitch Bad” are both currently available on iTunes, while a third single called “Lamborghini Angels” will be released next week. Fiasco recently tweeted, “Warning: if you are easily offended or religiously sensitive DO NOT listen to Lamborghini Angels. Contains very disturbing content” before adding, “Listener discretion is thoroughly advised.”

“It’s meant to tell the great American experience, touch on my ideas, my very rough, very unfinished, unpolished thoughts and feelings about America: American history, American culture, American society, American beauty, American food. You’ll see that laced throughout the album,” said Fiasco of Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album in a recent interview with CNN.
