Lucero will close out 2011 and ring in 2012 with a special show in Boston. The rockers from Tennessee will celebrate New Year’s Eve at Boston’s Paradise Rock Club. Tickets for the show are now on sale through Ticketmaster for $25. Lionize and Movers & Shakers will open the show.

The Memphis-based band are now putting the finishing touches on their forthcoming album, Women & Work, which is slated to hit stores in March through ATO Records. It will mark the band’s first release since 2009’s 1372 Overton Park.

“This record is Lucero doing what we do best,” declared  frontman Ben Nichols in a press release. “It’s one part barrelhouse Rock & Roll and one part lonesome nights. The thing is, we are having more fun than ever playing both on stage and off and I think that shows on this album.”

Lucero is comprised of Nichols (vocals, guitar), John C. Stubblefield (bass), Brian Venable (guitar), Rick Steff (piano, organ, accordion), Todd Beene (pedal steel) and Roy Berry (drums).
