Lowell Summer Music Series reveals more shows

Organizers for the Lowell Summer Music Series have revealed the another set of shows that will take place at Boarding House Park in downtown Lowell this summer. New Wave favorites The B-52’s and recent Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Jimmy Cliff are among the latest standouts scheduled to perform.

The B-52’s will come to town on Friday, August 20 with advance tickets on sale for $45. Jamaican reggae legend Jimmy Cliff, who was just inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame, will hit Lowell on Saturday, July 10 with advance tickets available for $33. Veteran British singer/songwriter Joan Armatrading will perform on Saturday, July 17 with advance tickets on sale for $28, while blues singer Marcia Ball is scheduled for Friday, August 27 with advance tickets available for $16. Finally, Cape Breton fiddle sensation Natalie MacMaster will return to the Lowell Summer Music Series on Saturday, August 28 with advance tickets on sale for $21.

They’ll join previously announced performers: Taj Mahal Trio (Friday, June 25), Cake (Friday, July 16), Indigo Girls (Friday, July 30), Suzanne Vega & Patty Larkin (Friday, August 6) and Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes (Saturday, September 4).

Boarding House Park (located at the corner of French and John Streets in downtown Lowell) is a general admission venue, where fans are encourage to bring a blanket, low sand chair or lawn chair. Children age 12 and under are admitted free. More shows are expected to be announced over the next couple of months. In total, the Lowell Summer Music Series will feature 20 shows at Boarding House Park. The non-profit concert series is presented by the Lowell National Historical Park and the Lowell Festival Foundation and aims to bring top-notch talent with low ticket prices.
