Lineup revealed for 2012 Green River Festival

Organizers for the Green River Festival in Greenfield have revealed the full lineup of performers for this year’s festival, which will take place on Saturday, July 14 and Sunday, July 15. The festival will celebrate Woody Guthrie’s 100th Birthday celebration with Arlo Guthrie and the Guthrie Family Reunion on Saturday, while Ozomatli will bring the 26th edition of the Western Massachusetts festival to an end on Saturday.

Los Lobos, Richard Thompson, Charles Bradley and the Rebirth Brass Band will also perform at the Green River Festival, which will be held on the grounds of Greenfield Community College. The festival will also feature a plethora of New England favorites including Lake Street Dive, Lake Street Dive, Winterpills, Brown Bird and David Wax Museum. The full lineup is available below.

Weekend passes and single day tickets are now on sale through the festival’s website. Special “early bird” prices of $60 for weekend passes and $45 for single day tickets are now available though April 13. Weekend passes will be then priced at $75 for a weekend pass and $55 for a single day ticket. Attendees can also purchase single day tickets on the day of for $75. Children 12 and under will be admitted for free.

Presented by the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce, the festival features music on three stages, food, crafts, dancing, a wide array of kids activities and hot air balloon launches (weather permitting).

The Green River Festival began in 1986 as a balloon festival. It has gained increasing popularity each year as more and more musical entertainment was incorporated.
