LCD Soundsystem has confirmed plans to visit Boston’s Orpheum Theatre in support of their new album, This Is Happening. Tickets for the Tuesday, September 28 show are $33.50 and will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster. Dance punk band Sleigh Bells will open the show.

Led by James Murphy, LCD Soundsystem has had a busy summer appearing at various summer festivals, selling out shows in major cities including New York, Paris, and Dublin, and traveling to Australia, Korea, and Japan. LCD Soundsystem is touring in support of its third album, This Is Happening, which hit shelves on May 18 and was their first album to debut in the top ten of the Billboard 200. The new album features popular singles “I Can Change” and “Drunk Girls”. This Is Happening was dedicated by Murphy to the late drummer Jerry Fuchs, who often performed live with LCD Soundsystem. Fuchs was the victim of a fatal elevator accident last November.

On this tour, Murphy will be joined by core members Nancy Whang (keyboards, vocals) and Pat Mahoney (drums), as well as Al Doyle of Hot Chip (bass), Gavin Russom (keyboards), David Scott Stone (guitar) and Matt Thornley (percussion).
