Ms. Lauryn Hill, former member of the Fugees and one of R&B’s best vocalists, has announced a rare Boston for later this month. Hill will grace the Wilbur Theatre stage in Boston on Monday, December 20. Tickets go on sale Friday at noon through Ticketmaster for $60.

Hill has only performed a handful of shows over the past few years. The former member of the Fugees launched her solo career in 1998 with the release of her critically acclaimed debut album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. The album earned Hill five Grammy Awards, including the Album of the Year and Best New Artist. Hill has not released a new album since, though has contributed some new tracks to various soundtracks. Earlier this year she returned with a new single “Repercussions” and performed at the Rock The Bells festival. Rumors regarding a new album release in 2011 continue to mount, though nothing has been confirmed.

Prior to her Boston show, Hill will perform at Higher Ground in Burlington, Vermont on Sunday, December 19. Tickets are $60 and go on sale Friday at 11 a.m. through the venue’s box office and website.
