Lady Antebellum, Eminem lead AMA Nominations
Lady Antebellum and Eminem topped the list of nominees for the 38th annual American Music Awards as announced by Demi Lovato and Taio Cruz yesterday in Los Angeles. The country-pop superstars and the rapper each garnered five nominations and were followed by teen heartthrob Justin Bieber with four nominations. Katy Perry, Ke$ha, B.o.B and Usher each earned three nominations.
Eminem and Bieber will face stiff competition from Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, and newcomer Ke$ha for the top prize of the 2010 Artist of the Year award. The complete list of nominees is shown below.
AMA nominations are divided into several diverse categories (Pop/Rock, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop, Soul/R&B, Alternative, Adult Contemporary, Latin and Contemporary Inspirational) and are based on data provided by chart ratings for sales and radio and internet play. Unlike the Grammy Awards, music fans will determine the winners by voting online, here, through November 12. Additionally, fans can vote for the T-Mobile Breakthrough Artist Award through Sunday, November 21 at 9 p.m., here.
Winners will be revealed live during ABC’s broadcast of the 2010 American Music Awards on Sunday, November 21 at 8 p.m. from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. Confirmed performers include, Bon Jovi, Pink! and Usher, with more acts and presenters to be revealed in the coming weeks.
