Kix Brooks makes plans for Massachusetts
Kix Brooks, formerly of the duo Brooks & Dunn, will hit the road this summer for a solo tour. The country star will make his way to Massachusetts for a performance at Showcase Live in Foxboro on Friday, August 17. Tickets for the show are on sale through the venue’s website and box office for $20.
In March, Brooks released his first post Brooks & Dunn solo single called “New To This Town”. Co-written by Brooks and longtime friends Marv Green and Terry McBride, the song also features Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh. The video for the song is streaming below.
“It paints the powerful emotion we’ve all known, of lost love and the uncomfortable situation of running in to that person again,” Brooks said the song’s impact in a press release. He added, “after a couple phone calls, and the sending of a music file across the internet, the man himself put his stamp on ‘New To This Town’ like only Joe Walsh could!”
In 2010, Brooks and Ronnie Dunn decided to put Brooks & Dunn on hiatus. Over their 20 years together, the duo scored 23 #1 singles and earned 80 major industry awards. The split of the duo was amicable as Brooks explained in a press release, ““It’s a freedom of sorts. It’s not a bitter freedom by any means, just sort of a ‘well that was fun, now what?’”
