Kid Rock announces ‘$20 Best Night Ever’ tour

Bucking the trend is custom for Kid Rock but the Detroit rocker has taken it to a new level with the announcement of his “$20 Best Night Ever” summer tour. The tour will offer tickets in all sections at an affordable $20 price point and discounted prices on everything from beer to merchandise for every show in every city.

Joined by special guests Kool & The Gang and Uncle Kracker, Rock will make his way to Massachusetts for a performance at the Comcast Center in Mansfield on Wednesday, July 10. Tickets for the show, which will be $29 after fees, will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster. In an effort to thwart scalpers, select tickets in reserved sections will be sold only via paperless ticketing.

Along with the discounted ticket prices, Kid Rock and promoters Live Nation are promising special $4 beers, value food packages, free coffee at the end of the show, and $20 tour t shirts. For every show on the tour, Kid Rock is reserving the first two rows for free upgrades for lucky fans selected at random. As an additional method to combat scalping, he’ll sell 1,000 “platinum” tickets per show through Ticketmaster at market level prices.

“I’m fortunate to be able to try this, and I think somebody like me has to, somebody that has had a lot of success that can go out and afford to possibly lose,” said Rock of the tour in an interview with Billboard. “I can roll the dice, and we might not make a dime this summer, but I can afford to do that. And I’m not asking my band or my crew to take a pay cut, I’m the one saying, ‘if this doesn’t work out, I’ll take the pay cut.’ It’s a way of saying ‘thank you’ to the fans that have been coming to the shows for the last 15 years.”

On the tour, Kid Rock will be promoting his latest album, 2012’s Rebel Soul. The singer’s ninth studio effort and follow-up to 2010’s Born Free debuted at #5 on the Billboard 200 after its release in November. The self-produced album was recorded with his touring band, Twisted Brown Trucker. The video for lead single “Let’s Ride” is streaming below.

Following the show in Mansfield, Kid Rick will travel to Connecticut for a performance at the Comcast Theatre in Hartford on Friday, July 12. Tickets for the show will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation.

On Friday, Kid Rock and Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino will appear on CNN’s “Piers Morgan Live” to discuss the tour.
