Before rocking two shows at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro to close out his 2011 tour, Kenny Chesney will play a rare and intimate club show at Boston’s Royale. The country superstar will perform at the Theater District club on Thursday, August 25 as part of the “CMA Songwriters Series”. The show will also feature Matraca Berg, Brett James, Wendell Mobley, Craig Wiseman and host Bob DiPiero.

Tickets for the 18+ show, which range in price from $30 to $75, will go on sale Friday at noon through Ticketmaster. Fans can purchase up to 4-tickets, which are non-transferable and will be available at the box office will call only. Purchasers must present a photo ID in order to retrieve their tickets.

Chesney, whose songwriting credits include such instant classics as “Beer In Mexico,” “You Had Me From Hello,” “Out Last Night,” “I Go Back,” and “I’m Alive” (a duet with Dave Matthews), has won four consecutive CMA Entertainer of the Year Awards, scored 22 #1 singles, and sold more than 30 million albums.

Joining Chesney will be a collection of acclaimed songwriters that he has worked with in the past. Berg wrote “You and Tequila”, which was recorded by Chesney on his latest album, 2010’s Hemingway’s Whiskey. Chesney has also worked with James (“When The Sun Goes Down” and “Out Last Night”), Mobley (“There Goes My Life” and “How Forever Feels”) and Wiseman (“The Good Stuff” and “Summertime”). Veteran DiPiero is known as one of Nashville’s most consistent and prolific writers with a collection of hits including Montgomery Gentry’s “If You Ever Stop Loving Me” and Tim McGraw’s “Southern Voice”.

Chesney’s performance at Gillette Stadium on Saturday, August 27 is sold out. However, tickets are still available for the show on Sunday, August 28.
