Urban is working on his eighth studio album with a multiple producers. No official release date has been set for the album but is expected to hit stores this year and Urban does plan to deliver some of the new material in concert. His last album was 2010’s Get Closer, which produced hit singles “Put You in a Song” and “Without You”, “Long Hot Summer” and “You Gonna Fly”.

“I don’t know what songs will make the album and what songs won’t,” said Urban in a recent interview with USA Today after revealed he’s recorded about 16 songs so far. “It’s been a case of recording a lot of different things with a lot of different people and then pulling everything together to find where the through line of the record is. It’s not like I set out with a theme for this album. I’ve never set out with themes for albums before. But songs start to have a similar thread and a feel that constitute an album, and that’s I’ve been trying to make.”

Urban will return to New England in the fall for a performance at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, New Hampshire on Thursday, November 14. Tickets information for the show has not yet been released. He’ll then hit Connecticut for back-to-back performances at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville on Friday, November 15 and Saturday, November 16. Tickets for each of the shows will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster for $65 and $85. Little Big Town and Dustin Lynch will provide support at each of the shows.
