Josh Thompson will hit Massachusetts later this month as part of his ongoing winter tour. The rising country star will hit Showcase Live in Foxboro for a performance on Wednesday, February 8. Tickets are now on sale through Ticketmaster for $20.

Thompson, who won his first BMI award last year for his hit “Way Out Here” from his 2010 debut album of the same name, spent the first days of his new year filming a music video for his latest single “Won’t Be Lonely Long”. In a recent interview with The Boot, Thompson  revealed that the video takes its inspiration from video for Tom Waits’ “Hold On”. “The shooting style and the lens, it’s like how an old newspaper kind of looks like tingy yellow after a while,” he said. “I saw that video, and I was like, ‘Man, that’s pretty cool’.”

In related news, Thompson will be featured on the forthcoming second installment of the Waylon Jennings tribute album series, entitled Waylon: The Music Inside, Volume Two. Scheduled to hit stores on January 24, the album features Thompson’s take on Jennings’ “Love of the Common People,” along with other hits sung by the likes of Dierks Bently, Justin Moore and Jewel.
