Josh Ritter and Brandi Carlile have announced plans to team up for a summer tour. The singer-songwriters will bring their co-headlining tour to Massachusetts for a performance at the Bank of America Pavilion in Boston on Saturday, August 4. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $21 to $36, will go on sale Thursday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation.

Ritter and the The Royal City Band will be touring in support of his new EP, Bringing in the Darlings. Released in February, the acoustic release features only Ritter and his longtime producer Josh Kaufman providing instrumentation. The 6-song EP was recorded and mixed over three days this winter at Homeward Sound in Brooklyn, New York. Ritter recently released a music video for the EP’s single “Love Is Making Its Way Back Home.” The video, done by design group Prominent Figures, used 12,000 pieces of paper to craft a scene with paper figures (no effects were added). Carlile will be on the road to promote her forthcoming album, Bear Creek, which is scheduled to hit stores on June 5. Named after the Seattle studio in which it was recorded, the album was co-produced by Carlile, her longtime bandmates The Twins (Tim and Phil Hanseroth) and Grammy Award-winning mixer Trina Shoemaker (Sheryl Crow, Queens of the Stone Age). Featuring lead single “That Wasn’t Me”, the album is Carlile’s fourth studio effort and follow-up to 2009’s Give Up the Ghost. Last year, Carlile released Live at Benaroya Hall with the Seattle Symphony, which was recorded during two sold-out homecoming shows in November 2010.
