Josh Groban has revealed plans for a world tour that will make its way to New England for a pair of shows, including one in Massachusetts this summer. The acclaimed singer will bring his “Straight To You” tour to Boston’s TD Garden on Tuesday, July 26. Tickets for the show will go on sale Friday at 11 a.m. through Ticketmaster for $65 and $95.

Groban will be touring in support of his latest release, Illuminations. The album, his fourth studio effort, debuted at #4 on the Billboard 200 after its release last November. The album follows 2006’s Awake. In 2007, he released a Christmas album called Noël. Like Groban’s previous albums, Illuminations contains songs sung in a variety of languages.

On the forthcoming tour, his first full-scale global arena tour since 2007, Groban fans can expect to hear a set comprised of new tunes and old favorites. According to a press release announcing the tour, Groban will “bring the feel of a theater experience to an arena setting though stage design, lighting, and projection, as well as through the spontaneity and interactivity Groban delighted his fans with during last year’s ‘Before We Begin’ shows.”

Following his show in Boston, Groban will perform at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut on Saturday, July 30. Tickets for the show will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster for $95 and $150. Later in the year, he’ll return to New England for shows at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, New Hampshire on Tuesday, November 8 and the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island on Wednesday, November 9. Tickets for the New Hampshire show will go on sale Friday at 11 a.m. through Ticketmaster for $74.50 and $94, while tickets for the Rhode Island show will go on sale Friday at noon through Ticketmaster for $77 and $97.

Groban was in Boston last night, joining Angelique Kidjo for her taping of a PBS special at Calderwood Studios. During his time in the Hub, he took time to record a video blog for his fans, which is available below along with a skit he did on Jimmy Kimmel Live earlier this year. On Friday, he’ll serve as a guest-host on Live with Regis & Kelly.
