Non-profit organization To Write Love on Her Arms is taking their flagship annual event, Heavy and Light, to cities across the country this winter. Switchfoot frontman Jon Foreman will headline the 15-date tour, which stops in Massachusetts for a night at Boston’s Paradise Rock Club on Thursday, February 14. Joining Foreman for the night of acoustic performances will be Bayside’s Anthony Raneri and Parachute’s Will Anderson, as well as Now, Now and The Lone Bellow. Tickets for the all ages show are now on sale through Ticketmaster for $14.

Heavy and Light, according to a press release, “is not a benefit show, but an attempt to move and encourage people through great music and powerful words, to stay alive and to get the help they need”. After the show, attendees will be provided with a list of local resources—places where they can get help for issues such as depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicide.

“The Heavy and Light experience has always been an amazing night of music,” said Foreman in a press release. “To bring it to the rest of the country is going to be incredible. I really believe in what TWLOHA does and have supported them since the beginning. I’m honored to join them in the Heavy and Light tour across the country.”

TWLOHA is a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicide. Since its start in 2006, TWLOHA has donated over $1,000,000 directly into treatment and recovery and responded to more than 170,000 messages and emails from more than 100 countries. Heavy and Light has been an annual concert hosted by TWLOHA each January at the House of Blues in Orlando. Last year, TWLOHA was awarded a $1 million grant at the first American Giving Awards presented by Chase Bank on NBC. They will be using this generous award to fund the nationwide Heavy and Light tour.

Along with his work in Switchfoot, Foreman is busy with Nickel Creek guitarist Sean Watkins and their side project Fiction Family. The duo will release their second album, Fiction Family Reunion, at the end of the month. Foreman will headline the entire Heavy and Light tour, either as a solo act or with Fiction Family. Other acts set to perform at select dates on the tours include Christina Perri, Aaron Gillespie (of The Almost), Bryce Avary (of The Rocket Summer), Noah Gundersen, Satellite and award-winning spoken word poet Anis Mojgani.
