Jon Anderson and Rick Wakeman, both best known as longtime members of Yes, are teaming up for a limited tour in support of the duo’s debut album, 2010’s The Living Tree. The brief stateside tour will include stops in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

Anderson and Wakeman will make their way to Worcester for a show at the Hanover Theatre  on Tuesday, November 8. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $45 to $65, are now on sale through the venue’s box office and website. Prior to the Massachusetts gig, the duo will perform at the Capitol Center for the Arts in Concord, New Hampshire on Tuesday, November 1. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $45 to $55, are now on sale through the venue’s box office and website.

“Expect a night of music, full of Yes classics and new adventures in song from The Living Tree album and moments of brilliance, humor and affection borne from a friendship and musical partnership that has lasted 40 years”, declared Anderson in a press release.

Wakeman added, “We knew from the responses on the last Yes tour that the acoustic section was extremely popular and that many of the pieces could be re-arranged and adapted to make very interesting and hopefully enjoyable new ways of playing Yes music and our own music.”

The Living Tree, which originally was planned to include a mix of reworked Yes songs and original material, includes nine brand new songs by Anderson and Wakeman. The recording process proved to be a bit bizarre through with Wakeman working on the album from England and Anderson from the United States. The two would send each other digital recordings for the other to perform over.

“I just thought of Jon, his voice, his beliefs and his spirituality. If the music was inspiring me on that level I would send it to Jon,” Wakeman said in an interview with Classic Rock Revisited. “A lot of music was ditched because I knew it didn’t have that connection. Likewise, a couple of the pieces I sent to Jon came back as he said he was struggling to get inside them so we simply set them to one side.”
