John Oates, one half of 1970/80’s hitmakers Hall & Oates, will embark on a solo tour this spring. He’ll make his way to Massachusetts for a show at Showcase Live in Foxboro on Friday, April 15. Tickets are now on sale through Ticketmaster for $25. Philadelphia-based singer-songwriter Mutlu will open the show.

Oates will be touring in support of his forthcoming album, Mississippi Mile, which is due to hit stores on April 12. “This album is about honoring the tradition of the song itself,” Oates said in a press release. “I wanted to go back to the songs that really shaped me when I was growing up. I wouldn’t be the musician that I am today without these songs. It’s a stripped-down effort to showcase what the song was before it ever made it on the record and became a hit. The music you hear on Mississippi Mile is as close to a live album as it gets.”

Fans can pre-order Mississippi Mile in a variety of packages through Oates’ page on A portion of the proceeds will benefit Love Hope & Strength, an international, music-centric cancer charity dedicated to saving lives, one concert at a time.

Following the solo tour, Oates will open for The Avett Brothers in a pair of New England gigs, first at the State Theatre in Portland Maine on Thursday, June 2 and then the following night at the Champlain Valley Exposition in Essex Junction, Vermont.

Meanwhile, Hall & Oates have also mapped a handful of dates for their “Do What You Want, Be What You Are” tour. The duo will play the MGM Grand Theatre at Foxwoods Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut on Friday, June 10. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $40 to $65, are now on sale through the venue’s box office and official website.
