John Mayer has revealed plans for extensive summer tour that will bring the Grammy Award-winning artist and former Berklee College of Music student back to Boston this summer. He’ll team up with Train for a show at the Comcast Center on Friday, August 6. Tickets for the show will range in price from from $30 to $72 and go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation. Fans can also purchase a special 4-pack of tickets for the discounted price of $24.75 each.

Mayer, who rocked the TD Garden earlier this year, continues to tour in support of his latest album Battle Studies. Released last November, the singer/songwriter’s fourth studio effort follows 2006’s Continuum and was co-produced by Mayer and Steve Jordan. Battle Studies was has been powered by the hit singles “Who Says” and “Heartbreak Warfare”. It also features a guest appearance by pop-country superstar Taylor Swift on “Half of My Heart” and a cover of Robert Johnson/Cream’s “Crossroads”.

Meanwhile, Train have recently returned from a three-year hiatus to release their fifth album, Save Me, San Francisco. The album’s success is largely due to the single “Hey, Soul Sister”, which reached #7 on the Billboard Hot 100.
