Joe Walsh announces new album, Massachusetts shows

Joe Walsh has revealed plans to hit the road this summer in support Analog Man, his first solo album in two decades. The legendary rock guitarist will visit Massachusetts for a pair of shows in August, He’ll play the Cape Cod Melody Tent in Hyannis on Wednesday, August 1 and the South Shore Music Circus in Cohasset on Friday, August 3. Tickets for each of the shows will go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster for $55.25 and $74.25.

“It’s been 20 years and I have a lot to say,” said Walsh in a press release. “These songs come from the heart.”

Walsh developed Analog Man over the last 10 years, drawing on personal experiences for each song on the album. “I just really feel like it’s all come together and finally I feel like a complete person and a complete musician,” said Walsh. “I think there is some confidence in there that I never had. That’s what I was hiding.”

The 10-track album was co-produced by Jeff Lynne and Walsh with Tommy Lee James co-writing some of the tracks. “Lucky That Way” features Ringo Starr, his brother-in-law, on drums. Fans can get a taste of Analog Man with the title track, which is streaming below.

Walsh is best known as the lead guitarist for the Eagles, which he joined in 1976 and is credited for bringing a harder rock sound to the band with acclaimed albums Hotel California and The Long Run. In addition to his solo career, he is also known for his work in The James Gang and Barnstorm.
