Joe Sib, veteran punk rocker and co-owner of independent label Side One Dummy Records, will bring his one-man show “California Calling” to the East Coast later this month. After a series of shows on the West Coast and in New York City, Sib is bringing the spoken-word/comedy/music performance based on growing up and his love for music to Massachusetts for the first time.

He’ll perform at the CafĂ© Room at Arts at The Armory in Somerville on Wednesday, September 29. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 on the day of show. Special guest Dave Hause from The Loved Ones will be opening the show. For a preview of what you can expect at the performance, check out the video below.

“California Calling is my story about how music saved my life. Sounds heavy right? Don’t worry, it’s not,” explained Sib in a press release. “But without music, I would be completely lost-and before I discovered punk rock, I was. California Calling is about growing up, and it’s about how one day in December of 1981 changed my life forever.”

In addition to the live show, Sib is releasing a five story CD titled True Stories and Bad Ideas which will be available for $5 purchase at all upcoming shows and on www.sideonedummy.com. All proceeds from the sale of True Stories and Bad Ideas will go to UCP Wheels For Humanity.
