Joe Satriani has revealed plans for a world tour that will make its way to Massachusetts at the end of the year. The Legendary guitarist will play Boston’s House of Blues on Thursday, December 9. Tickets for the show are now on sale through Live Nation for $55 and $35. Ned Evett and Triple Double will open the show.

Satriani will be touring in support of his forthcoming album, Black Swans and Wormhole Wizards, which is scheduled to hit stores on October 5. The album, his 14th studio album, was produced and recorded by Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Metallica). On the album, Satriani is joined by veteran bandmate Jeff Campitelli on drums along with a pair of newcomers, keyboardist Mike Keneally (Frank Zappa, Steve Vai) and bassist Allen Whitman (Mermen).

Fans who pre-order Black Swans and Wormhole Wizards exclusively through Satriani’s website will receive an autographed copy of the CD, as well as a free download of the new single “Light Years Away”.

Satriani’s last solo album was 2008’s Professor Satchafunkilus and the Musterion of Rock. Last year, Satriani joined with former Van Halen front man Sammy Hagar, former bassist Michael Anthony, and Red Hot Chili Peppers’ drummer Chad Smith, to form the supergroup Chickenfoot. The band toured extensively in support of their self-titled debut album.
