Jeff Mangum has revealed plans to return to the road this winter for a solo acoustic tour. The elusive lead singer of indie rock favorites Neutral Milk Hotel will make his way to New England for a handful of shows, including Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel in Providence, Rhode Island on Sunday, February 10. Tickets for the show are now on sale through eTix for $29.50 and $35.

Fans in Western Massachusetts can see Mangum perform at the Hunter Center at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art in North Adams on Saturday, February 16. Tickets are now on sale through the venue’s box office and website for $29.

“Hello friends in a flock of finches unfolding from the face of a foam horse on the phone to inform you that jeff is heading out for a u.s. acoustic tour, giving him the chance to play to all the silver citizens dwelling in cities that he has yet to sing in,” read a statement on the artist’s website.

Neutral Milk Hotel disbanded in 1998 shortly after the release of their second album, the critically acclaimed In The Aeroplane Over The Sea.

Mangum has also booked dates in Hartford, Connecticut (The Great Hall in Union Station on February 8) and Portland, Maine (the State Theater on February 9). The Music Tapes and Tall Firs will open all shows on the upcoming tour. A portion of concert proceeds will be donated to Children of the Blue Sky, a non-profit organization that aims to place orphaned Mongolian children with foster families.
