Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake to play Fenway Park

It’s official: Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake have announced plans for a co-headlining summer stadium tour. The two superstars will bring their “Legends of Summer” tour to Boston for a night at Fenway Park on Saturday, August 10. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $59.50 to $250, will go on sale Thursday at 10 a.m. through eTix (tickets will not be available at the Fenway Park box office). Pending demand, a second date at the historic ballpark is expected to be added.

Fans can expect a set packed with greatest hits from Jay-Z, the Brooklyn-bred rap icon who has made “the Yankee hat more famous than a Yankee can”, when he plays Fenway. He is rumored to be working on his twelfth studio album and follow-up to 2009’s The Blueprint 3. However, no information has been officially announced. In 2011, he teamed up with Kanye West for a collaboration titled Watch The Throne.

After focusing on his acting career in recent years, Timberlake will release his comeback album The 20/20 Experience on March 15. The former ‘N Sync singer’s third studio effort and first since 2006’s FutureSex/LoveSounds was executive produced by Timberlake with assistance from Timbaland and Jerome “J-Roc” Harmon. Timberlake collaborated with Jay-Z on lead single “Suit & Tie”, which has reached #4 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. The video for the hit single, which the two performed live at the Grammy Awards earlier this month, is streaming below.

Together, Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake have garnered more than 23 Grammy Awards, 67 million albums sold and two Emmy Awards.

Fenway Park first began hosting summer concerts in 2002 with legendary classic rockers Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band. Jason Aldean will perform two sold-out shows at the historic ballpark in July with help from fellow country superstar Miranda Lambert. Others to perform at Fenway Park include Roger Waters, Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, Dave Matthews Band, Phish, Aerosmith, The Police, Jimmy Buffett, Neil Diamond, New Kids On the Block and Backstreet Boys.
