Jason Mraz has revealed plans for an ambitious tour summer tour in support of his forthcoming album, Love is a Four Letter Word. The singer-songwriter will bring his “Tour Is A Four Letter Word” tour to Massachusetts for a performance at the Comcast Center in Mansfield on Friday, September 7. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $15.50 to $57.50, will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation. Christina Perri will open the show.

Love is a Four Letter Word, Mraz’s fourth studio album and follow-up to 2008’s We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things., will be released on April 17. It was produced by Joe Chicarelli (My Morning Jacket, The Shins). The album’s “I Won’t Give Up” has already topped Billboard’s “Digital Songs” chart and iTunes’ “Top Songs” chart. The video for the song, which was directed by filmmaker Mark Pellington (Bruce Springsteen, U2), is streaming below.

“It’s personal. It’s melodic. And it’s mellow,” Mraz recently said of the new album in a recent interview with Billboard. “There’s a couple of up-tempo tunes, but mostly the rhythm-of-the-heartbeat kind of takes precedence on this record. It feels more like the pace of life. At least, based on my life and what I’ve been doing.”

Fans got an early taste of the album in February, when Mraz released an iTunes exclusive EP of the same name. The four-track EP features live acoustic versions of two of the album’s songs, as well as two older tracks “I Never Knew You” and “You Fckn Did It”.

Prior to the show in Massachusetts, Mraz will perform at the Comcast Theatre in Hartford, Connecticut on Saturday, August 25.

The Virginia native also launched an online game through his website, a puzzle that fans can solve for an exclusive track or acoustic video from the upcoming album.
