Jason Mraz has revealed plans for a world tour in support of his brand new album, Yes!. The San Diego-based troubadour will make his way to Massachusetts for a special two-night stand in Boston with a pair of performances scheduled for the Citi Wang Theatre on Friday, September 12 and Saturday, September 13. Tickets for each of the shows, which range in price from $25 to $75, will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster.

Mraz will be backed by longtime friends Raining Jane, with whom he collaborated with on Yes!, on the upcoming tour. Released earlier this week, Yes! is Mraz’s fifth studio album and follow-up to 2012’s Love Is a Four Letter Word. Mraz began working on the all-acoustic album at the end of 2012, when he met with Raining Jane (cellist Mai Bloomfield, guitarist Chaska Potter, percussionist Mona Tavakoli and bassist Becky Gebhardt) for their yearly writing retreat at his San Diego home. The songs were so powerful that the group decided to get together again the following February, and again in Hawaii last summer. Mraz and Raining Jane spent two weeks in Omaha, Nebraska recording the bulk of the album with producer Mike Mogis (Bright Eyes, Rilo Kiley) before completing it as his home studio in San Diego.

For the upcoming tour, Mraz is focused on performing the new material in theaters with renowned acoustics. “A theater is where good music is best experienced,” he said in a press release. “This is where the real conversations can happen unscripted. When we can talk with the audience and share more than just what’s in the song. I’m also committed to playing in venues where the sound is impeccable, where everyone has a good seat, and where everyone has the chance to interact in the show, whether it’s singing along, shouting out requests, or just being seen. It feels like a sacred space. I know that’s important to a lot of people who go to my shows.”
