After two sold-out shows at Fenway Park last summer, Jason Aldean has announced plans to return to Massachusetts this summer. This time around, the country-rock superstar will perform in Mansfield as part of his “Bring It Down” tour with special guest Florida Georgia Line. He’ll perform at the Xfinity Center on Friday, July 11. Tickets for the show, which will also feature opener Tyler Farr, will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation for $29.75 and $59.75.

Aldean is reportedly working on a follow-up to 2012’s Night Train with hopes of releasing the new material sometime this year. In an interview with Taste of Country earlier this year, he said he’d like to release a new single before the tour starts and let that help dictate the album’s release date. As for what fans can expect, Aldean said, “I kind of view it the way I view every album I’ve ever done. You want to go in and push the envelope a little bit, but never get away from what it is that brought you to the dance.” He added, “People are used to hearing what I do, but, like always, there are things out there that are going to be a little different, not right down the middle.”

Night Train, the Georgia native’s fifth studio effort and follow-up to 2010’s My Kinda Party, debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 after its release in October of 2012 and went on to earn a Grammy Award nomination for Best Country Album. It has produced several hit singles: “Take a Little Ride”, “The Only Way I Know” (with Luke Bryan and Eric Church), “Night Train” and “When She Says Baby”.

Last fall, Aldean released the DVD concert film Night Train To Georgia. The film captures his sold out show at the University of Georgia’s Sanford Stadium last April and also includes footage from his shows at Fenway Park and Wrigley Field in Chicago last summer.

Aldean look to repeat as Male Vocalist of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards on April 6. CBS will televise the ceremony live from Vegas.

Along with the show in Massachusetts, Aldean will make stops in Connecticut (at the Xfinity Theatre in Hartford on August 2) and Maine (Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion in Bangor on August 31).

Florida Georgia, the country pop-duo composed of Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard, continue to ride the success of their 2012 debut album Here’s to the Good Times. The album has been powered by hit singles “Cruise”, “Get Your Shine On”, “Round Here” and “Stay”. The duo are currently working on their sophomore album with hopes of releasing it later this year.
