Janelle Monae announces The Electric Lady tour

Janelle Monae has revealed plans for a tour in support of her highly anticipated sophomore release, The Electric Lady. The R&B star will stop in Boston for a show at the House of Blues on Wednesday, October 16. Tickets for the show will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation for $25 and $45.

The Electric Lady, Monae’s follow-up to her 2010 debut album The ArchAndroid, will hit stores on September 10. Fans can get a taste of the new material with singles “Primetime”, “Q.U.E.E.N.” and “Dance Apocalyptic” (video is streaming below). Monae collaborated with several special guests led by her lifelong hero Prince and also including Erykah Badu, Miguel, Solange and Esperanza Spalding. The Electric Lady was was co-produced by Monáe alongside her fellow Wondaland Arts Society members Deep Cotton and Roman GianArthur with Sean “Diddy” Combs serving as executive producer alongside Big Boi.
