Jamey Johnson will make his way to New England next month with plans to perform a free show in Connecticut. The country singer-songwriter will perform at Mohegan Sun Casino’s Wolf Den on Friday, August 17.

Johnson is reportedly working on a tribute album to the late Hank Cochran. The album would feature duets with Ray Price, Willie Nelson, Alison Krauss, Emmylou Harris, Elvis Costello, George Strait, Vince Gill and Merle Haggard, among others. No release date has been announced for the album, which was produced by Buddy Cannon.

The Alabama native’s last studio release was 2010’s double album, The Guitar Song. The critically acclaimed album reached #4 on the Billboard 200 and topped Billboard’s Country Albums chart.

Johnson contributed vocals to “Hero” on Willie Nelson’s brand new album, Heroes.
