Jamey Johnson has added a Massachusetts performance to his ongoing tour in support of Living For a Song: A Tribute to Hank Cochran. The country star will hit Boston for a show at Royale on Wednesday, December 19. Tickets for the show will go on sale Friday at noon through Ticketmaster for $30.

Released last month, Living For a Song: A Tribute to Hank Cochran pays homage to one of the most acclaimed songwriters in the history of country music. Produced by Buddy Cannon, Johnson is joined by an array of special guests including Willie Nelson, Alison Krauss, Emmylou Harris, Elvis Costello, George Strait, Vince Gill, Ray Price, Merle Haggard, Leon Russell, Ronnie Dunn and more.

“When we were talking about who to call, people just kind of presented themselves,” said Johnson of the impressive list of collaborators on the album. “I think the word got out after awhile, and we were getting phone calls from people wanting to do it. There weren’t a whole lot of arms that needed twisting.”

Johnson’s last offering of original material was 2010’s double album, The Guitar Song. The critically acclaimed album reached #4 on the Billboard 200 and topped Billboard’s Country Albums chart.
