James Blunt to kick off spring tour in Boston

James Blunt has mapped a North American tour that will bring him to Boston this spring. The English singer-songwriter will kick off his tour at the House of Blues on Wednesday, April 20. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $32.50 to $42.20, are on sale now through Live Nation. Christina Perri,  a rising start and labelmate of Blunt on Atlantic Records,  will open the show.

Blunt is backing the release of his third album, Some Kind of Trouble, which dropped earlier this month. The album, which is the follow-up to 2007’s All The Lost Souls, was produced by Steve Robson (Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts) and recorded largely in London. “There was a sense of energy and excitement, to just have fun in the studio and make a noise”, Blunt recalled in a press release. “We did that and felt natural.” The video for the album’s lead single, “Stay the Night,” is currently in heavy rotation on VH1 and can be seen below.

Blunt is best known for his 2005 single “You’re Beautiful,” from his debut album Back to Bedlam, which garnered five Grammy nominations.

Perri, a 24-year old native of Philadelphia, has been receiving loads of buzz for her hit single “Jar of Files” off her debut EP, The Ocean Way Sessions.
