Jakob Dylan to bring new band to Wilbur Theatre

, Staff

Singer-songwriter Jakob Dylan will visit Wilbur Theatre in support of his new album, Women and Country, performing with his new band Three Legs. The recently-formed group will hit Boston on April 15 with lyrical/surf band Mimicking Birds scheduled to open the show. Tickets are now on sale for $25 through Ticketmaster.

Dylan’s visit occurs just nine days after the release of Women and Country, produced by T-Bone Burnett (Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, John Melencamp). The second solo album by The Wallflowers frontman is more of an Americana/Alt-Country-vibe and features back-up vocals from Neko Case of The New Pornographers and Kelly Hogan on 8 of the album’s 11 tracks. Backing Dylan up on Women and Country are T Bone Burnett’s acclaimed group of musicians including Dennis Crouch (bass), Jay Bellerose (drums), David Mansfield (fiddle & mandolin), Marc Ribot (guitar), Keefus Ciancia (keyboards), Greg Leisz (pedal steel), Darrell Leonard (trumpet), Ira Nepus (trombone) and George Bohanon (horns).

Dylan began performing in public with his new group back in March, playing on NPR’s online program All Things Considered and appearing on an edition of radio news magazine Weekend Edition.
