Ingrid Michaelson to make stops in New England

Singer/songwriter Ingrid Michaelson will make a trio of New England stops this fall. She will make her way to Boston for a show at the House of Blues on Tuesday, October 12. Tickets for the show are $27.55 and are on sale now through LiveNation. Michaelson will also play the Calvin Theatre in Northampton on Sunday October 10 and the Higher Ground in Burlington, VT on Monday, October 11.

Michaelson continues to promote her 2009 release, Everybody. The album, her fourth studio effort, was released in 2009 on her own label, Cabin 24 Records. It peaked at #18 on the Billboard 200 thanks to the success of lead “Maybe,” which spent 13 weeks on the Top Rock Songs chart.

Her latest single, “Parachute”, which was original written for British pop singer Cheryl Cole’s debut solo album 3 Words, hints at a shift in style for the New York native. While no date is set for her next release, she was recently quoted by Billboard.com as saying, “I don’t want to stay on the old singer/songwriter train for the rest of my life, I’d like to sonically branch out. I’m not gonna do death metal or go country, but I would like to experiment, try some other sounds and…be a little braver.”

Guggenheim Grotto will open the shows in Boston and Northampton.
