Hozier looks ahead to 2015 with more tour dates

His debut album has yet to hit stores but with his upcoming stateside tour already sold out, Hozier has announced plans for a return visit in 2015. The Irish singer-songwriter, who will play the Paradise Rock Club next month, will return to Boston for a performance at the House of Blues on Wednesday, March 4. Tickets for the show, which will also feature opener George Ezra, will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation for $27.50 and $39.50.

Born on St. Patrick’s Day and hailing from County Wicklow, the singer has enjoyed a phenomenal 2014 thanks to the success of his hit single “Take Me To Church” (streaming below). After a pair of EP releases (2013’s Take Me To Church and 2014’s From Eden), Hozier’s highly anticipated self-titled debut album will hit stores on October 7.

Calling his upcoming album a “mixed bag” in a press release, Hozier acknowledged influences of blues, folk and soul. Hozier, who co-produced the new album with Rob Kirwan (PJ Harvey and Depeche Mode), has described the release as a “mixed bag” with blues, folk and soul influences.

Hozier will serve as the musical guest on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” on October 11. He’ll perform a sold out concert at Boston’s Paradise Rock Club on October 31. In May, her performed at Boston’s Cafe 939 and impressed crowds at Rhode Island’s Newport Folk Festival in July.
